About Our Chapter

Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women is a values-based organization that has spent more than 145 years building its heritage and strong support network of 135 collegiate chapters and more than 300 alumnae organizations. Pi Phi’s continued success can be attributed to its more than 250,000 initiated members, 15,500 of whom are currently collegians. The philosophy of Pi Beta Phi began when the 12 founders created the Fraternity to cultivate lifelong bonds between its members as well as inspire them to achieve the highest and best in life. Throughout its history, Pi Beta Phi has helped young women develop meaningful relationships with others while reaching their personal potential. These relationships help sisters adapt to college life by providing a sense of belonging, mutual support and guidance. The benefits of Pi Phi membership transcend the collegiate experience. Pi Beta Phi provides ongoing support for all members as they continue a journey of lifelong commitment to the Fraternity.

The members of South Dakota Alpha are a strong group of one hundred and nineteen members. Pi Beta Phi exists to create and foster lasting, sincere friendships that will extend far beyond our four years of college. Sisterhood is the bond between us that stems from the experiences we share. Whether it is a short trip to get ice cream, big/little sister bonding, socials, or just hanging out in the TV lounge, each moment we spend together is always fun and memorable. Though we all come from different backgrounds and different places, Pi Beta Phi’s sisterhood is what makes us all family.
